Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 17, 2026

Your privacy matters. This Privacy Policy explains what information CheckMate collects, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

  • Profile: name, optional photo, preferred check-in times.
  • Wellness content: reminders, routines, medications you add, and daily mood entries.
  • People: the names and phone numbers of family members and emergency contacts you choose to add.
  • Doctor information: the optional doctor contact you save.
  • Device information: device model, operating system, app version, and notification permissions, to deliver the service reliably.
  • Analytics: aggregated usage signals (e.g. screen views, crashes) to improve performance and stability.
  • Notification preferences: the toggles and quiet hours you set.
  • Subscription status: your plan, trial status, and platform purchase identifier.

How we use it

  • To provide the core check-in, reminder, and family-sharing features.
  • To send notifications you've opted into.
  • To diagnose problems, prevent abuse, and improve the app.
  • To process subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play.

What we don't do

  • We don't sell your personal data.
  • We don't use your wellness or mood entries for advertising.
  • We don't share data with insurers or employers.

Sharing with people you choose

The family and care-circle members you invite see only what your sharing settings allow (for example, mood trends rather than individual entries). You're in control of who is in your circle.

Third-party processors

We use reputable providers for cloud hosting, crash reporting, analytics, and push notifications. These providers process limited data on our behalf under contractual safeguards. App Store and Google Play handle all payment information directly — we never see your card number.

Security

We use industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical safeguards (such as encryption in transit and access controls). However, no internet service can guarantee absolute security. You use CheckMate at your own discretion.

Data retention

We keep your account data while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings; we'll delete or anonymize personal data within a reasonable period afterward, except where retention is legally required.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, and to opt out of certain processing. Contact privacy@checkinapp.com to make a request.

Children

CheckMate is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

Changes

We'll let you know in-app when this policy meaningfully changes. The "Last updated" date above reflects the current version.
