If you believe someone is experiencing a medical emergency, call 911 (or your local emergency number) immediately.
CheckMate is not a medical service
CheckMate is a consumer wellness and family connection app. It is not:
- a medical device,
- a healthcare provider,
- an emergency response or dispatch system,
- a guaranteed monitoring service, or
- a substitute for professional medical care, advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Always seek the advice of a qualified healthcare provider with any questions about a medical condition. Never disregard professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read or experienced in CheckMate.
Notifications may fail or be delayed
Reminders, check-in prompts, and alerts depend on factors outside our control. Any of the following can prevent a notification from arriving, or delay it:
- Internet, Wi-Fi, or cellular outages
- Push-notification provider delays (Apple, Google)
- Operating system battery-saver or focus modes
- Device battery depletion or device being powered off
- Permissions revoked at the OS level
- Third-party service disruptions
- Scheduled or unscheduled maintenance
Do not rely solely on the app
CheckMate is intended to complement, not replace, real-world care arrangements. Please maintain other forms of contact and emergency planning with your loved ones, including:
- Phone calls and in-person visits
- Local emergency contacts and neighbors
- Medical alert devices where appropriate
- Professional caregivers or home-health services where appropriate
By using CheckMate you acknowledge
- You understand the limitations described above.
- You will not rely on the app as a primary safety system.
- You accept that CheckMate cannot guarantee that any specific message, reminder, or alert will be sent, delivered, received, or acted upon in time.
